Collection: Melissa Meyer

Melissa Meyer received both a BS and an MA from New York University, NY. She has taught and lectured at the School of Visual Arts, NY; The Cooper Union, NY; Skowhegan School, Skowhegan, ME; The Slade School of Fine Art and the Royal Academy, both in London, UK; The Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI; and The New York Studio School, among many others.

In addition, she has had one person shows at the Elizabeth Harris Gallery, Rebecca Ibel Gallery, Columbus, OH; the Holly Solomon Gallery, NY; the Galerie Renee Ziegler, Zurich, Switzerland; and the R.C. Erpf Gallery, NY; among many others. Group exhibitions include the Jewish Museum, NY, the Texas Gallery, Houston, TX; Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, NJ; The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls, NY; among many others. She has done public commissions in Queens, NY, Tokyo, Japan, and Shanghai, China. Her work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and many other public and private collections across the U.S. She frequently has been an artist in resident at Yaddo, Saratoga Springs, NY; as well as at the Vermont Studio Center. She exhibited at the National Academy Invitational 2008 and is a National Academy Academician.
